What to Say in a Work Meeting When Someone Says, ‘We Need to Do More With AI. It always happens. You’re in a meeting. Someone drops: “We really need to do more with AI.” Nods all around. No one really knows what that means. The conversation shifts to something else. Opportunity… wasted. But not if you’re ready. Here’s how to sound informed, focused, and valuable — without slipping into tech jargon or futurist fog. ⸻ 1. Ask: “What part of the workflow is slowing us down?” Don’t start with AI. Start with friction. Because AI is only useful if it solves a real problem. Say this: “Let’s identify the repetitive, manual, or high-volume parts of our process. That’s where AI actually creates value.” This shifts the convo from “what’s trendy” to “what’s useful.” ⸻ 2. Say: “We don’t need to automate everything — just the 20% that unlocks the rest.” This line lands. It shows restraint and strategic thinking. Follow up with: “Even simple AI tools — like summarising documents, triaging support tickets, or generating reports — can save hours. It’s not about replacing people. It’s about freeing them up to do better work.” Now you sound like leadership. ⸻ 3. Ask: “Do we want insights, or do we want execution?” This separates chatbots from AI agents. Say: “AI can give us better analysis, or it can take action. But we need to be clear which one we’re after. Are we looking for more signal, or for intelligent systems that actually do things?” People will look at you like you just unlocked the next layer of the conversation. ⸻ 4. Say: “Let’s test one small use case, not launch a transformation.” Ground it in reality. “We don’t need a whole AI strategy to start. We need one clear problem, one lightweight tool, and a 30-day experiment.” You become the voice of action without overwhelm. ⸻ 5. Close with: “Let’s make sure AI is amplifying our strengths — not just chasing trends.” This shows alignment. It brings it back to people and purpose. “The best use of AI isn’t what it can do — it’s what it should do to make us more effective, creative, and clear in the work that matters.” Now you’re the one in the room who not only gets AI — you get context. #Bridgewalker #MindplexMagazine #AIInTheWorkplace #MeetingSmartTalk #WorkplaceAI #FromBuzzToValue #AIWithPurpose #DigitalClarity #MindplexSeries #SmallWinsWithAI #StrategyOverHype #PracticalAIThinking

People should be doing this across all industries. I can't imagine many fields where these new tools could not be utilized to improve work.
