I miss the good old times on social media. Back when Twitter and facebook were young. Back then, when it was full of people posting "low-impact" messages like

"Just ate an apple"

"going to work now"

These days I was annoyed about all this nonsense. Today, I realize that back then I felt so much closer to these people. Today, my social media feeds are filled with polished, optimized messages from people that play the game with Twitter & Co. The game where you post only things, that work to grow your audience. I have to admit, there is a lot of good information out there. But there is also a lot going on just to get an advantage over the algorithms.

Writing for the algorithm instead of writing for your readers.

That's what annoys me. So far, this place looks good again.

You, sir, are an old soul! I couldn’t agree more. Social media is becoming increasingly negative. Sometimes, I feel like an outsider when I see the things posted there. People nowadays are desperate for clout.

The same reason is why I closed my account on some platforms or why I had limited my monthly logins on the other social media platforms. I am tired of posts that add zero to little, can we even remember those things after an hour or so?
