That's very important indeed. I think one way to formulate it could be "how do we maintain our collective individuation while transforming into new forms of intelligence". Or in other words, "how to keep consistent, coherent collective identity while augmenting it with dramatically new capabilities". How to make it justified to call that new generation still "us" ?
