Meanwhile, IBM has deployed AI agents to replace approximately 200 human resources roles, redirecting savings to hire 300 additional programmers and sales staff, increasing total employment, according to CEO Arvind Krishna. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Krishna noted that AI frees up resources for high-demand tech roles. He also urged the Trump administration to boost federal AI R&D funding, telling TechCrunch that such investment is critical for innovation.
