A new organization called the International Deep Space Exploration Association (IDSEA) was officially started in Hefei, China, Global Times reports. This group is the first of its kind focused on exploring faraway places in space, like the moon, planets, and asteroids. Experts from around the world said this is a big step for China in working with other countries and a key moment for new ideas in space. They believe it will help bring people together, push science forward, and create a shared future for humans in space.
The IDSEA is the first international group of its kind led by China. It includes Chinese organizations like the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory and the Chinese Society of Astronautics, as well as a French group called Planetary Exploration, Horizon 2061. At the opening event, the group agreed on its rules and chose its first leaders. Wu Weiren, a Chinese scientist who leads China’s moon missions, was named the first president. The Chinese government approved the creation of this organization, which was started by Chinese scientists.
Global support and goals for the future
Many groups, including the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the International Astronautical Federation, sent messages to celebrate the IDSEA’s launch. Over 100 people, including Chinese officials, scientists, and representatives from other countries, attended the event. Wu explained that the IDSEA will work on moon missions, trips to other planets, and protecting Earth from asteroids. It will study trends in space exploration, plan scientific goals, and hold important meetings for experts to share ideas.
The IDSEA wants to create a place where scientists from all over the world can work together and share knowledge. It will support projects that help economies and societies grow. The group also plans to hold science exhibitions, offer training programs, publish research, and give awards to talented scientists. It will help set rules for using space peacefully and keeping it safe for the future. Experts praised China’s efforts to invite global partners to join projects like lunar missions and smart robots for the moon, saying teamwork is key to success in space.
